Documentation Review

  • Logbook – required experience, legibility, signatures, columns summed, dual + solo equals total ASE.
  • Logbook – required endorsements (pre-solo knowledge, initial solo in make/model, current 90 day solo, cross country solo, cross country flight solos, 61.39 endorsement)
  • Pilot Certificate – required endorsements (solo in make/model, cross-country airplane)
Practical Knowledge Review IACRA Application Create an account on the FAA’s IACRA website.

  • Write down the FTN number in your logbook. The examiner will need the number to start your exam.
  • Create an application for a pilot certificate. Select these options: Private Pilot – Standard Issuance – Part 61 – Completion of Required Test.
  • Be sure to apply for an Airplane – Single Engine – Land rating.
  • When asked to input the airplane type and hours of experience, only use experience in the airplane you will be using for the flight test (i.e. CE-172-R)
  • When asked for your flight experience hours, ensure that your total dual received time plus solo time equals your total flight time.
  • When asked for Social Security number, select the ‘DO NOT USE’ option.

Use the PAVE checklist to identify risks associated with the flight.
